I noticed when playing several euphs at TUSAB-TEC that all of the horns at the Rayburn music booth were very highly sprung and the extra tension was quite noticeable. I didn't care for it. When I asked the representative about it, he told me that he increases the tension on all of the new horns by stretching the springs. When I asked him why, he said that it helps improve articulation. Perhaps I could have adjusted to the extra tension, but my first impression was quite negative.
