I always use generic french horn springs on my rotors. Very nice light action. Bounce is present but very minimal. I don't have a clue why people think that you have to have the heaviest springs possible on tubas. If you play cleaner on heavier valves it is extremely likely that the heavy springs are merely forcing you to be more precise with your fingers. I can't find a light spring that was originally designed for tuba. It's not uncommon to find rediculous amounts of tension on little student model horns.. When the kid can't push down the valves that seems like a problem.

As a group I think tubists need to get rid of our macho attitude and put an end to the silliness.
