I moved in the opposite direction, from a MW 20 (also a 3/4)to a larger horn. The MW was extremely well built and the valves were indestructible but it played like a brick with a mouthpiece on it. I suppose it could be compared to playing a Chinese violin and switching to a Guarnerius. The MW 18 may be a different sonic experience of course, but the general construction of MW has never been questioned. Nice sized horn to hold. NWD
