In the past I've left my tuba at home, and I played the school's sousaphone. I brought mine in a few days before a concert. This year I've had to play my horn at school all the time and it shows (I had to use it at a pep-assembly once and I will never do that again--my tuba got attacked by a bass guitar). Just try not to leave your horn alone and if you must then have someone you trust guard it with their life. Good luck!
