I would search out a Willson. It sounds more like a CC than either of those two, and has better playing characteristics. Chances are you will be able to find one if you put out enough feelers. There is usually someone looking to let go of one if the price is right. Also, based on the low turnover of the Willson, maybe it would be your best bet.

I know you said you prefer pistons, but you might also look into the 45-SLZ.

If I were to have to pick an F to tote around for quintet, concert band, small orchestra stuff and whatnot I would either pick the Willson F or the Willson Eb (yeah it's not an F). The Eb's do come up for sale from time to time also. They are just as good and maybe a little better blowing in the bottom end.
