in the main slide. it could work, perhaps adjustable stops would be required to deal with the weight so you could lock the slide in place, then adjust them when necessary.
What I (meaning me, not you ;-) would do is make the leadpipe removeable and add the valve there. The bore of the beast is .770, maybe larger. That's plenty big for me.
The "coolest" thing would be to put it after the main tuning slide....
But then again, I'm not a fan of big tubas :)
