Thanks for your comments, Dave. I have thought about getting the 3rd slide cut as well, but that seems rather drastic. As for the "tension" - I assume that refers to pressure that is in the joints (the pieces seem to "fight" the joint). My 2155 is only a year or less old (bought from Balt Brass July '98). I haven't really noticed a "tension" problem, but I do have a terrible buzz that appears on certain notes - maybe thats a result of tension?

Thanks again - and let me know what other "shop" solutions you discover. I'm thinking of a silver plating job to take a bit of the darkness out of the tone...
