This past weekend I was fortunate enough to play some of the "heavier" tuba orchestral chrats. Among one of them was Meistersinger. I decided to use my new Yamaha F tuba the 822S on this piece just to see how well it faired against my Meinl Weston CC tuba. Thought the sound was leaner the F tuba projected incredibly. I recieved a recording of the concert and I could actually hear all the notes from the low A in the beginning to the high E in the solo section. Bravo! Yamaha. I encourage all fellow tubists to try this horn in a similar situation and see how you fair out. I would be willing to bet you will be amazed with your results.
