First off, Thanks in advance for any help here.. I'm preparing to give a master class to some local middle school kids and would like some help fleshing out my memory.
Question One) What are the approximate lengths of each key tuba. I understand that bore size and thickness of the branches also have an affect on pitch. I'm just looking for generic textbook type answers.
Question Two) A couple years back I saw a master class by Brian Bowman in which he gave a list describing specific aspects of an overall great sound. I thought this was a great way to introduce a lot of important concepts in a tight little package and wrote them down. However, I seem to have lost the list since then. :( I'm sure I could come up with a list that would serve this function well enough but it would be kind of nice to be able to tell these kids, "this is what Brian Bowman thinks about when he plays." :) Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
joseph
