Yeah, that was Bob Stewart. It would have been nice to see, say Joe Daley, but Sam Rivers was completely ignored. Or maybe Howard Johnson, but it seems Gil Evans disappeared into thin air after Sketches of Spain. Or Marcus Rojas, but Henry Threadgill didn't seem to merit any attention.

I knew the series wasn't going to pay sufficient attention to developments in Jazz for the last 40-50% of its history, but I didn't expect the show to do such a great disservice to Great American Music!!

Please, before you believe a word from that last installment, go track down a copy of Cecil Taylor's Conquistador and listen to it carefully, see if it doesn't send chills down your spine (the good kind).
