How big is the pot? How many onions? How much soup does this build? If we're making 5 gallons of soup, then this isn't so much peanut butter. But I'd recommend "peanut only" unsalted PB, such as Adam's or fresh-ground from your local health-food store. Ordinary "Jif"-type peanut butter has most of the peanut oil removed and substituted with hydrogenated fat (oleo or corn oil) and has added sugar and salt.
