I agree about the 45S. Many people discredit it, and buy the SLP, but the 45S is a wonderful horn. I bought one in Jan. of 2001, and absolutely love it. In fact, I sold a real gem of an 822F to buy it. Basically, the 822 was a good tuba to learn F tuba on, as it was easy to play. the sound was te undesireable thing for me... too dark, and not enought "color" I love my 45S, and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for an F tuba.
