For your information, I got invited to do a tape of this audition. Not that I'm expecting to win the position, but just the fact that the Boston Symphony Orchestra would even consider looking at my resume and saying that I may be good enough makes me feel good about my playing. It doesn't matter about all this stuff, because these subs that you're talking about are a load of manure. How do I know? Ed Diefes is a former teacher of mine, and we still talk. From what I have heard from him, he's never subbed for anyone in the BSO since the tuba position became vacant.
Just a little friendly reply to this. I really respect you Joe and think that you offer a lot of great comments.
