I paid 3500 for my 2341 in satin silver. It plays awesome especially after i had Matt down at dillon vent my valves. Its has great tone and projects really well!! Ive had it a year now. I used to play on the old 2341UB that my school had and then i bought this one. I play it constantly at all different honors festivals like all state and all eastern and in different groups im in. The newer version has a detachable lead pipe and valve section. It also has larger finger buttons. Its definitely a great horn for the money. Plus if you ever wanted to sell it it goes for about twice as much as youd pay for it at dillon. As for the relation to the sousaphone i have no clue. Any other questions just email me.
