I happen to have an old Alexander mouthpiece with an enormous shank and a very wide, but shallow cup. Does this sound similar to yours? I don't use the MP because the only Alex that I have is an F tuba. I have a Floyd Cooley Helleberg that works very well on my little F tuba. The 5th partial is within 5-10 cents and the low C when played with the fourth valve speaks very well. I do agree that they are VERY, VERY, MP sesitive tubas.
