I guess I need to add to my post above. I am looking for a post where I can be a musician first with few to no other responsibilities outside of that; a professional musician working for our government. Music is my life, as you can relate to! I also would like to move around as little as possible, since I have a fiancée, I would prefer not to hurt her career.
From what I understand from your posts, the Air Force is the best choice because their bands tend to be better and geared more towards musicians than musicians who are soldiers on the side. Most of you don't have much experience with the Navy, so that is also a possibility?
If I can't trust recruiters, who else should I speak to other than current band members?
