Ken,

There is a solo clarinetist who plays in a club quite a few blocks the other side of Canal Street from the quarter...on a street with a v-e-r-y long name. I'll try to find his name and his website.

The Dukes of Dixieland does a pretty good evening show on the riverboat, and combined with dinner that is a nice outing.

I'm not sure if Banu Gipson (singer/guitar/banjo with rhythm section and a horn player) is still in town, but she always put on a great show.

I've never been particular impressed with Preservation Hall, particularly when considering the wait...

A couple of the street bands are quite entertaining and will bring a smile to your face. You'll probably encounter them without trying very hard.

Catch the late-night band upstairs at the "Funky Butt" on South Rampart Street...not "traditional jazz", but usually a great band.

Unfortunately, Mahogany Hall is now a porno house.

Ken, please do not venture north of South Rampart Street. Day or night, you may end up dead.
