Would you pay that much for a mouthpiece? Brass is CHEAP! I recall talking with a friend whose 'cello-playing daughter was fortunate enough to be accepted at one of the top-flight conservatories. While her tuition was covered by a scholarship, there was the matter of a suitable instrument. He was talking serious second-mortgage money.
And that didn't include insurance and regular maintenance.
