Leland, your response makes sense, but then why the heck is there a cottage industry in taking big old American York-style BBb and Eb horns and hacking (okay, cutting) them up into CC and F horns?
Seems to me that the instruments would sound the best in the key that they were originally built in. Maybe I'm just maive...
