I have some people after playing a trombone or trumpet, and then going back to tuba saying there upper range is easier to play for that while. But I would think it would have no effect on anyone's upper register on tuba because the amound of lip you're using to buzz is different on trumpet and tuba. I used to just buzz songs while I'm walking to class just with my lips, thinking that it would help out with my upper register on tuba. And then when I try playing those really high notes, it just sounded fake; I was just using the tuba mouthpiece and the tuba to amplify my lips buzzing. Not only that, my two front teeth started moving back and forth and still does a little now. Sux to be me. But I didn't practice on a trumpet mouthpiece so I don't think your teeth will move :.)
