As a High School student I must say that I would much rather play on a rotary valve tuba because they have a much better intonation and can play much faster. and I personally own a miraphone 186 and think that they're the best thing since peanut butter and are a great tuba for any highschooler and no matter which one you go with I'm sure that it will be MUCH MUCh better than the tubas that our school and many other schools provide.
