Hello, I am new to tuba playing. Is a baritone/euphonium really just a baby tuba?
My band director told me that the euphonium was created to support the tuba. Also that the music/solos were just transposed up from tuba music. Is there a history for the euphonium or is it just an alternate instrument???? My band director also said that if you had enough trombones that you really do not need euphoniums.
I am so confused.??? Are euphoniums essential to a musical group?? Or is my band director just a dork??????
