To elaborate, the bore on both the 34J and 24J is the same, 0.770. The only difference is the short action valves on the 2XJ series. The easiest way to tell the difference is to ask if the valve stems are centered in the valve caps. They are offset on the short action valves, and centered on the long action. Either one should be a nice playing horn, although watch out for a flat 3rd partial, i.e. Eb through F# just below the bass clef staff. My 21J and 20K are both "k" serial number horns and seem well made. 1967 was a few years before production was moved to Texas. A reasonable price for either horn would be between $1500 and $2500, depending on condition.

These are very large, heavy horns, so be prepared if you decide to go for it. I love the big fat sound of my 21J (3 valve, upright bell version) but it can be tiring to hold for a long concert.
