Most people have minor shifts in their playing. I used to have to shift to get above an Eb, and now its about a high g. as long as you can do it with out interrupting the air flow, and you are practicing lip slurs and buzzing that do NOT use a shift, you will find your embouchure will gradually get stronger.

by the way Devin, you've no reason to be worried about your range. Just continue to work on accuracy and pitch centering and everything else will take care of itself in time. I'm glad you enjoy the hard music, but some things just take time to develop. do your lip slurs, and make them challenging.
