Having already played my 4th gig this morning, it brought up a thought. They always say remember the people who founded our country and did so much for us. Like many composers, these were not the highly moral people that we are taught about, but we respect them for their contributions.

Another thing to think about is rock music. Many "rock musicians" are just down right horrible people but I still listen to their music because I like it. It is so easy to analyze historical figures and completely forget about people like Ozzy, Guns'n'roses, Metallica. There opinions and bad behavior are in the public view but they still rock. When it comes to music you just have to look past the composer or performer sometime and think about how you feel when the trombones come in at the end of the Tannhauser Overture. That, my friends, rocks.
