Why should we even consider any thing that richard wagner composed to be worth the paper it is written on? This man was a dangerouse genious. He hated anything that wasn't german and that was his only principle. We as people who have seen this type of mind set take control of 'a people' time and again example; the spartans of greece etc. should not continue to support this mind set by continuing to play pieces of music that were written for absolutely no reason but to spread propoganda amuck, like 'Die Meistersinger Von Nurenberg' . It seems that this piece would at least loose its stature as a standard audition piece considering that its premise to perpetuate the forming of the superior race of Germans(the austrian race) and infact much of wagners music is hailed as the almamatter for those who believe in this austrian race i.e. {pre nazii of world war II and those post worldwar II ie neo naziis} There seems to be very contrasting view points on this topic and I am curious to see what those in the tuba world have to say,
