Alright, I realize you are shaking your heads no already, I kind of expect that. But here is my story. I've got this tuba with a sticky second valve and no valve oil that I have helps. So I was reading a few weeks ago about these concoctions of thin valve oil, and some other thicker oil from around the house, like sewing machine oil. I don't have a sewing machine, and I was just wondering how "around the house" I can get with my thick oil choice. What will, lets say, vegetable oil, do?

I realize I must sound like an idiot making this post, but at least I have the sense to as here first, and I'm really curious about what cooking oil will do to my tuba.

Feel free to rip on me for my stupid idea, but if it will work, let me know, I'm sick of of using alternate fingerings on everything I play.
