Hi all,

The bottom G (4th-valve) on my multi-decades-old Cerveny CC plays sharp, in a way that can't seem to be fixed by pulling out the stock 4th-valve tuning slide (it stays sharp to the point of the slide popping out), and I find lipping that note down to correct pitch with 4th valve to be almost impossible. I did find an alternate fingering - 2/4 - which seems to hit it pretty close. It also delivers a decent low F with 1/2/4, there doesn't seem to be a similar pathology with other notes in the low to mid range, and the horn plays well otherwise. Has anyone else had this experience? Would there be any percentage in getting a longer 4th valve slide made?
