Hello All,
I just recieved a GREAT recording of Bruckner's 6th with the aforementioned orchestra conducted by Lopez-Cobos. Wow, what a sonic feast!!!! The clarity, balance, and inner parts are astounding as is the pacing. I have never listened to this work much, but have practically worn out the cd this afternoon. I assume the tuba player to be Mike Thorton, he sounds great. The player who really shines in my eyes is the Principal Trumpet player. The sound is free and fat, and has an effortlessness to it that is downright cool. If you are looking for a great recording of this work, this is the one to have. Congrats Mike to being in a fine orchestra. I think I will try the Bruckner 8 next.

Chuck
