More than likely the noisiness is caused by the valve buttons slamming against the valve cap. I found that I would go through felts very quickly. A friend of mine had similar problems with his 2145. He purchased some synthetic felts, synthetic corks and some custom valve caps from Dillon which sit a little higher. The guys at Dillon have done quite a bit of work on the new MWs. I bought a set of each for my horn and found that the synthetic products wore down MUCH more slowly, didn't deteriorate like cork and felt does when exposed constantly to oil and saliva which let the valves port correctly for a longer period of time.

The guys at Dillon are familiar with this request and know the right thickness of material to send you. Give 'em a buzz!
