I did try the 3301, which seemed to be the four valve equivalent. It seemed to be an all around better horn for me, although I still didn't think it came close to the
Miraphone that I ended up purchasing in the end. I needed one horn that could do a lot of things (band, orch, chamber, jazz, solo, etc.) because I am going to be a performance major starting next fall, and maybe I put the VMI's under too much scrutiny because I was worried about making a purchasing mistake that I wouldn't have the money to correct anytime soon. Anyway, I did eventually end up with "the right horn for me".
