My advice? Buy my Cerveny 601 CC for sale! ;-)
Seriously, I was exactly where you are 10 years ago. I had a good 4/4 CC, a good small horn (Eb in my case), and started looking for a 6/4 CC. The only two options then were the Yorkbrunner (way out of my price league and a horn I don't particularly like) and the MW 2165 which was just coming out of prototype. Unfortunately, they wanted $12,500 for the 2165 and I couldn't afford that either. My only remaining options were a cut BBb or the 601. I made some modifications to it (on the advice of Don Harry) and I got exactly what I was looking for. The cost was around $5000.00 total. I'm now selling that horn for $5000.00 and if you're interested, contact me. Good luck finding the horn you desire!
My opinion for what it's worth...
