And even that G is only a semitone flatter than one of the most treacherous high notes in the entire repertoire--so treacherous on bass tuba that it is often played on a tenor tuba or euphonium, and often enough by a trombone player at that. And even that G will preclude the work from being performed by anyone not a pro or aiming to be one.
