Both the Holton and the York Master want the fourth slide pulled out pretty far, about three inches. I finger the low B 2-4 and nobody complains. (That doesn't mean it's right, of course).

But how would you play it if you had a fifth valve? 2-3-5? Seems like if that was in tune, the low Eb would be sharp at 4-5 on my tubas. I play the Gb at the bottom of the staff 2-4 on my F tuba, too, and it has a fifth valve.
