One of the problems with listening to tuba is that it's so low in frequency that our ears can be deaf to some faults. Take a good clip of yourself, convert it to an MP3 and run it through an audio editing package like CoolEdit, "stretching" the pitch up an octave, but keeping the same tempo, so it sounds like you're on euphonium rather than tuba. Listen for nits, particularly in pitch and articulation. The rise in frequency really magnifies the faults.
