My 1st valve has been vented and has a ring installed on the slide. Depending on the player it is either in tune with the slide all the way in, or it must be lipped just a bit to get it there. This means you do have to manipulate the 1st valve slide when playing it, which I've gotten used to. But other than that, it's an exceptional small F tuba IMO.

It is, unfortunately just a wee bit smaller than my quintet desires for the bass voice. And since the quartet that I used to play in is now defunct (I purchased the 621 to cover the 2nd 'bone part as written as much as possible), I no longer need the horn and am offering it FS. It is listed at Bass Clef Brass, FYI.
