I, as well as several others here, have various old Conn catalogs. If you can post a description of the horn with dimensions, layout (valves front or top, number, bell up or forward, fixed or removeable, etc), bore size, bell diameter and any numbers on the horn anywhere -- or better yet, post some pictures -- we may be able to figure the model numbers out.

Bear in mind that Conn used model numbers more than once in several cases -- among the best know are 26J which could be a pre-1930ish 3 upright valve fixed bell 'Monster BBb' or the mid-30's and later 4 front short action action valve, recording bell version of the famous 2XJ large bore Conn basses. Other numbers reused were the 36J and 2J through 5J, which were small standard Eb and BBb basses in the very early catalogs, and in the '60s became the 2J/3J CC/BBb small bore tubas and their successors 4J(CC) and 5J(BBb) were in production not all that long ago. The 5J may still be available, IIRC.
