As I recall, a trumpet (Bb) player can switch to Eb tuba (bass clef) and use the same fingerings as if it were still treble clef. I think the key signature still has to e changed, but I don't know how. I am fairly certain that one of the uses of Eb tuba was to simplify the conversion of trumpeters to tuba.
