I'm not so sure about that size thing. The last summer that I marched senior corps our corps was contemplating buying a set of DEG supercontras. Which are basically the big Willson CC tuba on its side. Talk about being able to pump out the volume. for what it was I thought the horn responded fairly well and sounded exactly like the Willson CC.
Might be interesting to try a horn in FF if we could convert one of those DEG horns.
