Just saw the Canadian Brass in Indianapolis Sunday -- quite good, as usual. The newer trumpet player and the horn player were both outstanding.
I was curious to know the specs on Mr. Dallenbach's tuba -- bore and bell size. Last I heard, it was a 17.5 inch bell and a .768 bore??
Confirmation, please? And, out of curiousity, what tubas available (new or used)today are a close match (or slightly larger) for this one?
He had a nice sound, but for my personal taste, I would have enjoyed a little bigger bass voice for the quintet. (The Hilbert Theater does have a very high ceiling, FWIW.)
