My PT-6 does not have a stuffy low range. It also has a great upper range. You obviously have to play several horns because they will all be different. Perhaps you can make a trip to Germany to pick out a horn from the factory. It may be cheaper, then again, there's always customs.
My personal opinion is that the PT-6 is an all around great horn that produces a great sound.
