Some details that you need:
Morse taper (it doesn't matter which number) is about .050 per inch, which is correct for the old Bessons. The end diameter should be around .485 to .490, and one inch up the shank should be .050 bigger.
The problem you will have is that many mouthpiece have backbores that are too large to cut that much off the outside. The end will be too thin, or even disappear with the cut. Trust me, you don't want to cut your finger on a spinning mouthpiece's razor-thin shank. I did that last week. Measure the inside diameter at the end. You want to leave at least .025 or .030 thickness.
