There is a Besson bell front tuba on... well some auction site. One of my students is looking for an economically priced horn and I thought this might fit the bill for him. The only problem is, his band director isn't really happy with the bell.
Here is what they are thinking, they are going to bid on the horn. If they win it they would like to have another bell put on it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of horn should they be on the lookout to scalp a bell from? How about the inner diameter of the ferrule? Does anyone have a ferrule sitting around they would like to get rid of?
