i wish to seek the councle and wisdom of you experienced players out there.
i have played tuba from 5th grade through my senior year, but never had the money to buy a tuba. i took a year off, and played 2 years at the Bible college that i went to (nothing too exciting, oohmpa-ing on a 1/4 m. weston). now, i am somewhat settled, and my old high school band director is letting me borrow an old miraphone (186?) untill i purchase an instrument of my own.
what i am wondering is what are the pro's and con's of new verses old instruments, and also if there is a web page somewhere that lists horns that a heavy guage brass and those that are thinner guage?
