I know I posted this below, but there are several questions I would like to ask concerning these horns. These are the horns I'm going to test at (insert Indiana music store) when we head up there. Unless a true pricing miracle comes along on a decent Mira CC (think 1290-5v), I'm going with a BBb. These are the horns-Miraphone 186/187/189/1291.
I have a fair idea of how each horn plays and whether it has any quirks, except the 189. Does it have any strange characteristics that should raise a red flag? Also, what sort of playing characteristics does it have? Lastly, how does the Cerveny 601 measure up, other than being much bigger than all of these horns? The only other thing that would shift my judgement would be a good Holton 345. Antother question(!)-What's so special about Alexanders?
