I sit in orchestra rehearsal day in and day out and hear, "Trombones, do this" and "Trombones do that..." When will a conductor acknowledge the fact that this big thing that sits in my lap, that has 5 valves and NO SLIDE is a TUBA, not a trombone. I can handle him calling for the low brass section, but this just trombone thing is getting rather old.
Is this a common problem or am I just blessed with a conductor that doesn't know the names of the instruments with in an orchestra?
