His figures are half of the added (or subtracted) length--so they're actual slide pull lengths.

However, 2 cents correction isn't exactly twice the correction for once cent. Let's assume that your BBb is 1 cent flat; you'd need to push the slide in about 0.118/2 cm (0.059 inch) ; but if your instrument was 10 cents flat, you'd need to push the slide in about 3.4/2 cm (0.669284 inches). In other words, as the pitch drops, the proportionate slide push gets longer.

I haven't looked at Art's spreadsheet, but these are the numbers I get for A4=440 and 20C temperature in dry air.
