Rick, I played in the band at the performances you attended. I've performed on every recording of the DWS and definitely played the Nelson recording. Privately I will tell you an embarrassing moment on the Nelson recording... but I ain't gonna post it. Did you ever come backstage?

Lee Hipp and Richard Morgan were the first tuba section of the DWS. When Lee left, Andy Carlson was in for about two years (before his Navy Band stint began). When Richard Morgan left, I joined the group (that was 88-89 ?).

Andy left and we began searching for another tubist, eventually hiring Ed Jones. When Ed began his two year sabbatical to the Ft. Worth Symphony, Richard Murrow played with us. Richard, Ed and I played on the two albums of Marches.

Ed eventually became the official FWSO tubist, and we auditioned for a permanent tubist hiring Jason Wallace.
