I'm not sure that the original poster said he's looking for tuba players who play "primarily jazz." He said he's looking for info on "jazz tubists." Sam Pilafian is an incredible classical tuba player who also has several albums out that feature him improvising on jazz tunes. There have been periods in his performing career where he has played more jazz gigs than classical gigs. If Sam doesn't meet your definition of a "jazz musician" it would be interesting for you to expand on that and tell us why.
