with all due respect, sir...the best thing for the ensemble is for me to play it. But unless you have not been paying attention, it IS characteristic tuba literature nowdays. Beelzebub was not my feature selection on my senior recital. Bydlo is in a range that any professional tuba player should be able to play, and they can. I have heard some crash and burns, also, but we don't know any of the circumstances surounding those performances. The part does not specify tuba, tenor tuba, didgereedoo, or any other thing, except it says TUBA on the front of it. It goes on my stand, and I play it. I don't play it out of professional pride(which I and others will take offense to)rather out of artistic integrity, and the opportunity to make great music. We don't play music for pride, so don't imply that. its insulting. Have a great day.
